UPDATE 3:05 P.M. EST: CBS News has updated their death toll to five.

Latest reports say police are now investigating at the least seven different felony scenes. So far they have recovered a semi-automatic rifle and two handguns.

At least three people are dead after a shooting on Tuesday near and at Rancho Tehama School in Northern California.

That number unfortunately may not has become final as Tehama County Assistant Sheriff Phil Johnston told the press “a number” of children had been airlifted for medical attention. An officer at Enloe Medical Center has reported receiving one adult and three children.

Among the dead is the shooter, who was killed by police.

Authorities say the man first opened fire at a private residency then moved to the elementary school, apparently doing more shooting along the way.

Authorities also say they have 100 law enforcement personnel in the area investigating at the least five different misdemeanour scenes.

Local news channel CBS1 3 reports the school has been evacuated, but some parents are stuck on the other side of road block from their children.
